Position: Trustee (Board Member) 

Reports to: Chair of the Board 

Time commitment: 6-10 hours per month (Monthly board meetings, sub-group work, and brand & design leadership). This may be higher over the next 6 months as we progress several important strategic initiatives. 

Term: Trustees typically serve a five-year term, with annual re-election 

About the role 


This is a standout moment for the charity — a period of growth, momentum and bold ambition. We’re about to elevate our public presence, sharpen our story, and step into a new chapter of confidence and visibility.  

To support these ambitions, we are seeking to appoint a trustee focused on Marketing & Partnerships to play a crucial role in shaping and guiding the charity's marketing strategies and developing partnerships that support our mission. You will work closely with other Board members and the Ops team to ensure that our marketing efforts are impactful and that we build strong, beneficial relationships with partners. 


Responsibilities 

The Marketing & Partnerships Trustee will take a lead role in: 

  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing marketing strategies that align with the charity's goals and objectives. 

  • Partnership Development: Identifying and cultivating relationships with potential partners, including businesses, other charities, and community organizations. 

  • Brand Management: Ensuring that the charity's brand is consistently represented across all marketing channels. 

  • Campaign Management: Overseeing the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to raise awareness and support for the charity. 

  • Channel Management: Working with the Charity Manager and Communications Trustee to develop and introduce a new brand and charity website.  

  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Track the effectiveness of marketing strategies and partnerships, making data-driven recommendations for improvement. 


In addition, as a member of the DMT-DRSG board of trustees, you will be collectively responsible for: 

  • Ensuring the charity operates in line with its charitable purposes. 

  • Acting in the best interests of the charity and its beneficiaries. 

  • Ensuring the charity is well-managed, financially sustainable, and compliant with OSCR regulatory requirements. 

  • Contributing to strategic direction, risk management, and oversight of policies and performance. 

  • Attending board meetings and participating actively in discussions and decision-making. 

  • Upholding the charity’s values and promoting good governance, equality, and inclusion. 


Who we’re looking for 

If you’re interested in joining our small, but passionate board of trustees, what we’re looking for in our next member is: 

  • Proven experience in marketing, public relations, or a related field. 

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media strategies. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. 

  • Passion for the charity's mission and values. 

  • Previous experience in a trustee or board role is desirable but not essential.
