All of the information we hold is provided directly to us for one of the following reasons:

  • To enable us to send items to your home address

  • To enable us to find a suitable home for our dogs, taking into consideration your circumstances, lifestyle and home environment for example

  • To enable us to receive payments from supporters 

  • To enable us to send marketing materials to supporters

  • To enable us to verify the identity of volunteers

 

Under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) the lawful bases we use for processing information are: 

  1. Consent. You are able to withdraw your consent at any time, by contacting us. 

  2. Legitimate interests. 

  3. Contract.

  4. Legal obligations.

 

What We Do with Your Information

 

We use your information to: 

  • Facilitate the matching of dogs with appropriate homes

  • Send marketing materials to you 

  • Update you on the progress of any dogs you act as Guardian Angel for 

  • Send (via post) physical items to your address, at your request 

How We Store Information

 

All information is stored in a location accessible to only trustees of the organisation. DMT DRSG makes use of cloud storage and therefore information is backed up by Google Cloud Platform. We will keep your information so long as you remain a supporter of the organisation, unless you tell us otherwise. 

Your Data Protection Rights 

 

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

 

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. 

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. 

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances. 

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

 

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. Please contact us via email if you wish to make a request.

Complaints can be made to us in writing, via email.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how we have used your data, or how we respond to your complaint.
