Role Title: Governance Lead
Reporting To: Charity Manager/Trustee Board
Location: Remote
Approx hours per week: 5
Role Type: Voluntary
We are looking for an experienced Individual to join our volunteer team. This role forms part of the charity management team and will have responsibility for managing charity governance. More info below:
Responsibilities of the role:
· Ensuring the charity is compliant with charity regulations.
· Ensuring meetings are being held appropriately at trustee, management, and team level.
· Writing agenda and taking minutes for management team meetings.
· Providing advice and guidance to the charity management team in relation to governance.
· Ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and addressed appropriately, captured on the charity risk registers.
· Ensuring complaints are reviewed and any follow up actions shared with trustees, management and team.
· Coordination of charity policies including review and audits.
· Advising on data protection and confidentiality requirements
· Co-ordinating and maintaining identification checks on all volunteers in addition to non disclosure agreements and volunteer agreements.
· Contributing to the overall management of the charity as part of the charity management team
· Attending a monthly team meeting via MS Teams to provide a short update on your work and receive updates on pertinent issues within the charity.
· Keeping in frequent contact with team members
· Adhering to all charity policies and procedures.
· Other tasks as directed by the charity manager.
Skills Required:
· Knowledge of charity regulations and the associated governance required.
· Basic data protection knowledge
· Understanding of risk management
· Experience of coordinating policies
· Dedication to our charity’s mission
· Excellent communication skills
· Competent in the use of IT

Onboarding process: You will undergo a short interview via MS Teams to assess suitability for the role. The successful candidate will be required to sign a Non-disclosure agreement, a volunteer agreement and provide ID documentation to allow background checks to take place. On completion of suitable background checks you will then begin a trial period within the role.
